Solar is convenient
Of all the Renewable
Energy sources available solar has been chosen as the primary source
of energy charging, due to ease of operation, universal availability
and drop in costs of systems over the years. When the energy systems
are decentralized to the home level, solar becomes the only viable
option.

Apart from being convenient
and cost effective, India is blest with plenty of sunshine................
Solar
Energy is Free, Renewable and in abundance in India......
India receives 300 clear sunny days in the year. This is
equivalent to 5000 trillion kwh year. This is more than
the energy consumption annually. The daily average solar
energy incidence varies between 4-7 Kwh/m2 depending upon
the location.

Based
on the predictions of several international energy agencies,
a new report, published by the European Photovoltaic Industry
Association (EPIA) and Greenpeace, finds photovoltaic energy
could supply 26 percent of the world's energy demand by
2040.
|
|
Photovoltaic
output is predicted to rise to 276 Terawatt hours
(TWh) by 2020, which is equivalent to 30 percent of
Africa's energy demand, 10 percent of OECD European
demand or one percent of global energy demand. If
this projection proves to be true, it would replace
the output of 75 new coal-fired power plants and prevent
664 million tons of carbon dioxide from being released
into the atmosphere. The developing solar infrastructure
would have an investment value of $75 billion per
year and lower the cost of solar modules to $1 per
watt delivered. |
